Challenges

HobbyMaker offers thousands of products across papercraft, mixed media and art & craft supplies, from dozens of brands.

Customers have specific tastes aligned to particular brands that specialise in their chosen crafting medium, yet ongoing CRM campaigns are generic with limited resources available to run specific campaigns for specific brands.

Solution

Using Reignite HobbyMaker were able to create a number of personalised brand templates. Rather than creating individual templates per brand there is a single campaign that dynamically personalises the email based upon their favourite brand.

This includes:

  • A personalised brand hero coming from the brand personality with the brand logo
  • Same brand products pulled from one of several recipes
  • An additional recipe that inserts relevant live shows featuring the brand from the channel TV guide

Different flavours of recipe allow a number of flavours such as ‘New In’, ‘Best Sellers’ and ‘Trending’ to ensure freshness.

Marketing simply copy the template they wish to use for any send and schedule with no manual edits required each time. Product selections are automatically populated with the latest updates and ensuring recent items shown are not repeated.

Results

In order to understand the performance benefit of brand emails a random control group was sent a generic campaign for comparison.

From this we could see:

  • Click-rate increased by 266% from 2.23% to 5.93%
  • Average revenue per customer increased by 15.23%

In addition, as the email content is fully automated there is no additional burden on adding these to their campaign calendar, and they are also used within new customer journeys to increase 2nd purchase rate.
